October 2025

This has been a difficult month for us personally.  We mentioned in our last update that Dad had been placed on hospice care.  Shortly after sending out that update, Dad lost his battle with heart disease and passed away on October 1st. God has been our strength through the grieving process, and we are thankful for the prayers and notes of encouragement from all of you.

Our update this month is quite brief, but we wanted to let you know what has been happening in the past month...

Released Time

Just one month into the school year, we are adding another school to our rotation!  The Fruitport Middle School class begins in November, bringing our number of schools to 4!  Please pray that families would continue to sign up their kids for Released Time, and that those involved would be faithful to reach out to invite their friends.

Book Clubs

Our book club meeting this month combined both our Spring Lake and Hudsonville groups at a single location.  Our numbers are down a little bit in Hudsonville, so we are combining groups for a while as we try to build things back up.  We had a great time discussing the themes in our latest book Beyond Mulberry Glen.  Our next book is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

Mail-based Bible Lessons

We are grateful to have a new volunteer with us to bring some focus to our Bible Lessons Ministry.  She has graciously agreed to spearhead this facet of our ministry, and we are excited to see where it will go in the coming months!

Ministry Finances

Our "DOLLAR A DAY" challenge for ministry funds has been answered by 4 different individuals!  Our goal is 25 people (or families) who would give $1 per day for a year to help us cover our 2025-2026 budget, which includes an expectation of growth beyond last year's numbers.  Would YOU be willing to take on that challenge?  What a blessing you would be to help further the gospel in West Michigan.  See information below for how to get that started.

We praise the Lord for those who have already given sacrificially this month. Please pray for wisdom as we allocate these funds in ways that would bring glory to God and lift up the name of Jesus in our community.

Family

It has been a while since we gave an update on our kiddos, so for those who are curious, here's a quick rundown...

Brandon and Nayab are looking to relocate closer to us after the completion of this school year!  Distance from family and cost of living are the main drivers for their move. Brandon has been reaching out to Christian schools and churches for some potential job opportunities in Worship Ministry. Nayab has been working through the process of getting her green card, and appears to be on track for that to happen in November - sooner than anticipated!  She will be pursuing a position in Biblical Counseling.

Tori and Cameron (and Cayde and Solomon) are in the process of moving too!  They found a larger home in Norton Shores, and have been working on getting it ready for move-in by early November.  Tori is also expecting their third child, so we will add a fourth grandchild in April/May of next year!  Cameron is currently working for EV construction.

Emily and Will are living in Muskegon, and have now been here a little more than a year.  Will is an air-traffic controller at the Muskegon airport, and is currently "unpaid" per the government shutdown.  Pray that ends soon!  Emily continues to work for Design Phase in Kentwood as an interior designer.

Justin and Fallyn (and Eliana) are living in Pennsylvania.  In addition to being a mom to Eliana, Fallyn is very active at Camp Cornerstone (the former CBM location where we served).  Justin is working for UPS, and continues to seek a job in his field (film), and is currently exploring some potential leads.

We look forward to having everyone here for Thanksgiving!

Prayer Requests

Would you take a few minutes right now to celebrate and intercede for us?

Praises

God has once again shown himself faithful in providing for the needs of the ministry!

We now have a dedicated volunteer to help with our mail Bible lessons!

God has opened the doors to start another Released Time class at Fruitport Middle School.

Requests

Pray for a volunteer to help staff our Fruitport Middle School Released Time class - could this be YOU?

Pray for students to sign up for our after-school book club offerings.

Pray as we put the finishing touches on our new website, that it would be effective in advertising the ministry.

Pray for our family as we grieve Todd's dad's passing.

Closing Thoughts

God continues to provide for our needs, both as a ministry and as a family. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
