June 2026

Summer Camp season is in full swing!  We just completed our Adventure Camp week, and are already prepping for Jr. High Day Camp which starts in just 10 days!  We wanted to pass along a brief update this month instead of waiting another month for a fuller update...

Adventure Camp

Our adventure camp this year was held at the same property as the previous two years.  We are so grateful for "Farmer Phil" who once again went out of his way to make our experience fun and memorable!

We had 7 leaders and 17 campers turn out for this 4-day, 3-night adventure.  It was our largest (and hottest) adventure camp to date.  Temps were in the 90s a few days, but the kiddos were real troppers!  The campsite was very shaded with a nice breeze moving through most of the time, making the heat more bearable.  There was some rain on the first night and we dodged some thunderstorms that were threatening to send us to the farmstead for shelter. Thank you Farmer Phil for our new gravity-fed shower!  It was a real hit, providing a nice cool-down from the hot, muggy weather.  Meals were all prepared around the campfire, and each camper got a turn to share in the responsibility of clean-up.

Each year, we plan an offsite activity during Adventure Camp.  This year we went to Allegan Event, featuring indoor high-ropes courses and climbing walls.  The kids really enjoyed it -  particularly that it was air-conditioned!

Our theme for all our camps this year is "In the garden".  We looked at three gardens:  Eden, Gethsemene, and the unnamed garden where Jesus was laid in a borrowed tomb.  We used these three gardens to explain for the kids the entrance of sin which corrupted our relationship with our creator, and the remedy God provided through the sacrifice of his Son.  We also looked at the parable of the four soils, and challenged the campers to be the type of person who listens and responds to God's Word.

During a time of camper testimony, we learned that one of the returning campers (who was also a jr. leader with us this year) had accepted Christ as his savior at our Adventure Camp last year!  We were so encouraged by his testimony, and the testimonies of other campers as they shared their stories and the impact that God has had on their lives.  While we aren't aware of any new decisions made, the gospel was shared plainly and we trust that God's Word will not return void!

Thank you to all our volunteers, supporters who assisted with supplies, prayer partners and our hosts for making this an impactful and memorable camp!

Prayer Requests

Would you take a few minutes right now to celebrate and intercede for us?

Praises

Praise Him for the safety and protection he provided for our campers during the heat.

Praise Him for the new relationships that were created and the existing ones that were strengthened through Adventure Camp.

Praise Him for the two interns from our national office, Brian & Dalton, who were able to come and help.  They were definitely a gift from the Lord.

Requests

Pray for wisdom and stamina as we prepare for our Day Camps later this month.

Pray for open doors in the schools where we are trying to get after-school clubs started this fall.

Pray that the Holy Spirity will stir the hearts of students who have heard (or will hear) the gospel this summer.

Closing Thoughts

Thank you for your encouragement and support as we minister to kids through summer camps!  Pray that God will open hearts and do His work in these kids lives as they hear the gospel proclaimed.
